Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation Review

Hey Beauties,

So i recently but a photo of this foundation on my instagram and asked who would like to see a review and i was inundated with 'yes'. So here it is. I have combination oily skin that leans towards the oily side especially in summer, I'm like a constant grease ball no matter what. So when i was in Sydney i wandered into Sephora in desperate need (not really) for a foundation, especially a higher end foundation as i don't particularly have higher end foundations. I got a sample of this foundation and the Kat Von D Lock-It foundation but of course they were sold out in my shade, so i purchased the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Full Coverage Foundation.

First of all this is a mousse type foundation, one that I've never owned before and i was so fascinated by its consistency. Its like I've whipped up egg whites and they're super fluffy. Anyway so i was drawn into it by the texture and it claiming to be full coverage which it is not. I used a beauty blender to apply this and it was in no way full coverage as i expected it to be, it was kind of medium coverage but its definitely build able. It doesn't set super quickly so its quite easy to work with and its very light on the face.

I carried on with the rest of my face routine which includes setting my foundation with powder as i am super oily. I got about my day and i looked into the mirror at about 3-4pm and wow the foundation had parted on my face and gone all patchy and i was a shiny disco ball. Needless to say i was disappointed, i feel like Tarte lied to me hahah.

I was expecting the longevity of Estee Lauder Double Wear and i got the longevity of Loreal True Match (doesn't last long on me). I feel like this foundation will be perfect in winter as my face is less oily and i think i will get a longer wear out of it but for summer its a no go right now especially with how hot it has been. I will continue to try it with different primers and applications etc but until now its a no go if you have super oily skin. I think this would suit either normal to combo skin or possibly even dry skin as its so light i don't think it will cling to dry patches.

So those are my thoughts on Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation. Have you tried it before? what are your thoughts? Leave some comments below.

Until next time,

Love Always,

Sydney Haul & thoughts of Sephora

Hey Beauties,

Beginning of January i went to sydney for two weeks and of course Sydney has the first Australian Sephora. I'm not going to lie i went there about 7 times in the two weeks there. I didn't buy much makeup from Sephora because most of it was out of stock which sucked majorly because i feel like they should of been getting refills every week and have constant stock levels up which they didn't at all. The prices were average, they claimed to have US prices but i knew that would never happen because of taxes, import costs, shipping etc. Prices were kind of on par with Mecca, Myer etc so it was nothing major. It was also ridiculously busy all the time and hard to get anywhere around the store which i knew it would be like that. Im hoping next time i go back to Sydney they have better stock levels and the hype has calmed down. So enough of sephora, below are what i purchased with swatches swell, i hope you enjoy this post.

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in 'Medium Custard', Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 hour foundation  in 'Ivory'

MAC Mineralize skinfinish in 'Perfect Topping'

Swatch of Perfect Topping

OCC Test Tube Lip Tars, Stained Glosses in 'Rhythm Box' and 'Mein Herr'.
Matte Colours in 'Narcissus' and 'Roller Girl'

Swatches of Lip Tars

So although i didnt buy much I'm happy with what i got as i have wanted to try everything for awhile.

Until next time,

love always,
